 The superior performance of the 1/2 cord micro firewood kiln is due to the directed airflow design. In an open loop, heated air enters the chamber through the propane torpedo heater port in the middle air gap where it gets pulled through stacked wood (two parallel stacks on two either purpose built pallets or in 275 totes with a tight fit top to bottom and front to back) to either side where it exits from the far side air gap through opposing exhaust fans. The fresh air exchange rate is under two minutes.

The internal wood temperature gets up to 170F in an hour and a half. External is 270. Heat treatment can be accomplished in as little as 4 hours and less than half of a 20# tank of propane.
